Food for thought: with the coming fare increase, the average ride on a Boston "T" will cost $1.25, which will be more than the Washington Metro ($1.20). Can anyone on Earth truly believe that this is a good deal? I recently took a trip to our Nation's Capital, and was impressed by their public transit system; it was fast, clean and efficient. Whe I got back, it was like stepping into a nightmare - dirty, slow, and inefficient.
Why do we pay for 1st-Class, when we are getting steerage? The Federal Government should be investigating this fraudulent violation of the public trust.
